The word “Reiki” (Ray – Key) is used generically in Japan to denote any healing process which involves the use of the Life Force and is generally described as Energy work. This process, as originally discovered by Mikaomi Usui, is called Reiki, the Usui system of Natural Healing.

In its highest meaning, ‘Rei’ means spiritual consciousness or Divine Wisdom: the All-Knowing God consciousness, that which understands the person, their problems, the cause and how to heal. ‘Ki’ signifies the life force, the vital life force that animates all living things. It is the Divine Consciousness or Rei that guides the Ki, the life force in its healing work. Thus Reiki is easily defined as spiritually guided life force energy. More simply stated, the basis of Reiki healing is Love. It is the coming together of spirit and mater. Reiki is a safe, nurturing, non-invasive modality.

Reiki is complimentary to standard Allopathic and Homeopathic treatment. Due to the technological advances in modern medicine, the element of touch . The energy behind the process in as invisible but palpable life-force energy. The ancients understood that this life force energy flowed through the body supporting optimal development and fulfillment. The traditional Reiki process is a precise form connecting this universal energy with the body’s innate powers of healing. The energy fuels the body’s homeostatic mechanisms and works at the cellular level, revitalizing the cell and reestablishing the integrity of the cell wall as it balances the energies in the body.

The reiki process facilitates clearing of mental and emotional issues because the individual feels totally supported by Spirit, the energy and loving support of the practitioner as a conduit for the energy.

It is a hands-on and distance healing modality which stands alone, and also supports other healing modalities.
